Baker & Taylor, J.A. Majors, and YBP Library Services are pleased to announce they have signed a license agreement with Book News Inc. to provide descriptive reviews of books in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Book News' database contains more than 250,000 reviews which are distributed in print and electronically with close to 18,000 new entries added each year. Coverage includes content descriptions of scholarly books in all subject areas from hundreds of English-language publishers worldwide.

Some of the medical publishers included in the SciTech Book News Publisher List are: American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Association, Blackwell Publishing, Cambridge University Press, Cengage Learning, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press, CRC Press, Elsevier Health Sciences, F.A. Davis, Human Kinetics Publishers, Humana Press, John Wiley & Sons, Jones & Bartlett, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, McGraw-Hill, Oxford University Press, Nova Science Publishers, Prentice Hall, Quintessence Publishing Company, Sage Publications, Sinauer Associates, Slack Incorporated, Springer, and Taylor & Francis.

Anyone with a current login and password to Majors' web site, www.majors.com, will have free access to the reviews. The Book News reviews will be included in addition to any descriptive title summaries written by the Majors Library Services staff. Look for the Book News reviews to appear on Majors web site during the first quarter of 2009.
